Penni is an energetic, happy and friendly American Staffordshire Terrier/Hound mix who would love to be able to call your home, her home. This sweet girl has a rough past and came to us not long after having a litter of puppies, her milk barely dried up and her ears so infected that they were almost completely swollen shut. She was also frost bitten and covered in an itchy rash from head to toe. Despite the obvious past neglect and lack of proper vet care Penni rebounded quickly and has learned to shine while in her current foster home. She is incredibly friendly with children of all ages, gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes and loves all adult humans (male and female) that she comes into contact with. Unfortunately she is not a pup who cares for cats so a feline-free home is a necessity. Penni is housebroken, crate trained and learning basic obedience commands but she is also stubborn and easily distracted, so it would be best if she attends a basic obedience with her new adoptive family. She loves Nylabones, Kongs with cream cheese, carrots and nearly every other chewy treat that she can get her teeth on. She is not destructive though and takes good care of her dog bed and other belongings.
